Before making physical or virtual infrastructure changes, contact TRBOnet Support at support@trbonet.com so that a new license can be provided promptly.

Summary

The Hardware ID is tied to the server environment and may change after physical hardware changes, operating system changes, domain changes, or virtual machine reconfiguration. If the Hardware ID changes, the current license becomes invalid.

Physical server changes

The server Hardware ID may change after replacement of physical hardware components, including:

1. Motherboard
2. HDD or SSD
3. Network interface card
4. CPU

Virtual machine changes

The server Hardware ID may also change in a virtual environment. Any administrative change to the virtual machine may affect the Hardware ID, including:

1. CPU allocation
2. RAM allocation
3. Disk size or disk configuration
4. Virtual network adapters
5. Virtual host updates or upgrades

Other conditions that may change the Hardware ID

The Hardware ID may also change in the following cases:

1. The server joins a directory service, for example Active Directory Domain Services.
2. The system time, time zone, or date is changed.
3. A major Windows OS upgrade is installed, for example from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10.
4. Windows is reinstalled.
