This article describes the procedure for onboarding WAVE PTX into TRBOnet Plus, including required parameters, subscriber registration, location profile configuration, and troubleshooting of common issues.

WAVE PTX node configuration in TRBOnet Plus is described in Guide.

WAVE Onboarding and TRBOnet Plus Configuration

Before adding WAVE PTX to TRBOnet Plus, you must obtain the connection parameters from the onboarding email sent by Motorola, titled Onboarding details for <Company Name>.

Service API FQDN
Client ID
Client Secret

These parameters are required to add the WAVE system in the TRBOnet Server Configurator.

Use the Test button after entering parameters to automatically populate the Agency field.

Procedure to Add WAVE PTX

1. Open the TRBOnet Plus Server Configurator.
2. Navigate to Radio Systems Add WAVE PTX Universal Gateway.
3. Enter the Service API FQDN, Client ID, and Client Secret.
4. Click Test to populate the Agency field.
5. Click Apply to save the settings.

Location Profiles for Different WAVE Devices

Correct location profile configuration is essential for proper device operation.

ION Devices

ION devices have access to both Broadband and LMR networks.

The location profile must use Mixed mode in the Channel priority setting.

WAVE PTX, WAVE TLK, EVOLVE Devices

These devices operate on the Broadband network only.

The location profile must use Broadband mode in the Channel priority setting.

Adding WAVE Subscribers to TRBOnet Plus

1. In the TRBOnet Dispatch Console, navigate to Administration Radios Unregistered.
2. Find the WAVE subscriber. It will be identifiable by a populated WAVE ID field.
3. Register the device by specifying the correct Radio ID and selecting the appropriate Location profile.

Common Issues and Solutions

WAVE device is not appearing in Administration → Radios → Unregistered
1. Contact TRBOnet support to confirm the subscription is active and the device list has been received.
2. If not, contact Motorola support to verify the onboarding process was completed correctly.
Calls from any WAVE subscriber are received under the same Radio ID

Contact Motorola support to verify that each WAVE subscriber is configured with a unique individual Radio ID.

GPS reports are unavailable or unstable

Create a separate location profile for WAVE subscribers as described in the "Location Profiles for Different WAVE Devices" section.

Default Accuracy filter is set to 50 meters. If the device's location accuracy is worse, try increasing this value or disabling the filter.

Group calls from TRBOnet are not reaching WAVE subscribers

Enable the NAI Voice option in TRBOnet.

Private calls from TRBOnet are not reaching WAVE subscribers
1. Enable the NAI Voice option in TRBOnet.
2. Disable the Private call confirmed setting.

If a WAVE subscriber is registered only within the Broadband system (data-only feature), private calls via the radio system are not possible. To enable radio system registration, NAI Data and MNIS/DDMS must be configured for both the radio system and TRBOnet. ION devices can register via the LMR network.

Text messages are not exchanged between TRBOnet and WAVE subscribers

The WAVE API does not support text message transmission at this time. Text messaging functionality is not available.
