Swift Voice Recording Storage Capacity Reference

The Voice Recording tool in Switch CPS retrieves call recordings stored on the radio Option Board. Recordings are exported in TNA format and can be played only with TRBOnet Player. TNA includes radio ID, start time, end time, and call parameters.

Voice recording requires the following Swift Logic settings:

Synchronize time with TRBOnet Server
Synchronize time with GNSS (requires Location license)

Only digital transmissions are recorded. Digital audio is encoded in AMBE by the radio. Analog transmissions are not recorded because they are not AMBE encoded.

1 hour of AMBE encoded audio uses about 1 MB of Option Board storage.

Storage Limits

Motorola GOB

Available capacity: 5 to 6 hours of voice recordings.

Swift ST002m

512 MB total storage. About 500 hours of recordings.

Swift ST002 (previous generation, external SD)

256 MB total storage. About 250 hours of recordings.
