This article describes private call behavior and limitations for Mobile Client integration with MOTOTRBO systems.

There are two deployment models:

Deployment with a Control Station
Deployment over IP without a Control Station

For configuration details refer to the Mobile Client User Guide in the technical documentation.

Using a Control Station together with Swift Agent is recommended for simplified deployment.

Deployment with a Control Station

This is the most common topology where the server connects to the MOTOTRBO system over IP and the Mobile Client uses a Control Station for all voice operations.

IPSC

A Mobile Client cannot initiate private calls to radio subscribers and can use group calls only.

The Mobile Client will hear the call but cannot reply, even within hang time.

CPSS / CPMS / Capacity Max

After a Mobile Client initiates a private call, the radio subscriber can reply within hang time.

Deployment over IP

These limitations apply to controller based systems only such as Capacity Max and Dimetra Express.

Mobile Clients do not register directly to the system controller which results in restricted private call functionality.
