Messages Interpretation

Sync Undetect

This message is received from the repeater and displayed in the TRBOnet Watch console. It is not a DMR over-the-air data burst; it is delivered over the IP network. The message is included based on Motorola system documentation, and a full internal state model is not publicly described.

Example:
When a transmitting radio moves out of coverage before the call ends, the repeater stops receiving the signal but the call is still considered active. To signal that the call can be terminated, the repeater sends a Sync Undetect indication to other peers in the IPSC slot.
This behavior is normal and does not indicate a fault in the system.

Race Condition Failure

This event indicates that two subscriber radios attempted to initiate a call at the same time. Only one request is granted during channel arbitration; the second request is rejected.
This is normal arbitration behavior under simultaneous call setup conditions.

It is normal to see these messages occasionally (e.g., once every ~10 minutes).
If they appear frequently or continuously, further investigation is recommended — contact Motorola technical support for system-level diagnostics.

ICMP

In TRBOnet Watch, ICMP messages may appear even when no one is actively pinging the radio.

ICMP can be sent by a radio when:

  • the radio is not configured correctly
  • the radio receives a command that is not intended for this device or not supported by its current configuration.

For example, this may occur if some service ports are mismatched or not specified (ARS, GPS, TMS, etc.).
In this case, the radio is unable to send or receive the required signaling to or from the radio system and may respond with ICMP messages instead.
