DGNA or Dynamic regrouping is the feature that allows Dispatcher to move subscribers to specific Talk Group.

DGNA in Capacity MAX

DGNA allows Dispatcher to move subscribers to specific Talk Group.
The command replaces Contact Name on a selected Capacity Max Personality and Text on Display

Configuration – MSI side:
  • Firmware 2.10 or newer.
  • Radio Management -> CMSS -> activate license for DGNA (EID: Dynamic Group Number Assignment).
    According to the Article "HKVN4694A DGNA license - one per site". Which means the amount of DGNA licenses must be equal to licensed sites. If the license is not activated or not all sites are licensed the "License required" message will be shown in TRBOnet Dispatcher according to the answer from CMSS.
  • Radio Management -> Subscriber Access Control -> Enable option DGNA Rx for chosen Subscribers accounts.
  • Radio Management -> Talkgroup Site Association -> Create several groups what will be used as “dynamic” groups, configure TSA rules for these groups.
The configuration also provided in Capacity Max System Planner -> 1.25 "DGNA operation".

Configuration – TRBOnet side:
  • No action required. TRBOnet detects an ability to use DGNA for Capacity Max system based on wireline protocol version used for connection to Capacity Max. By default TRBOnet trying to use newest version.

Interface explanation:
Radio 135 - DGNA Rx feature is not enabled for radio in SAC.
Radio 567 - DGNA request executed successfully and Radio now registered in group 50. If radio changes the personality and register in another group, this information also will be shown in the same form.
Radio 35521 - No answer to the DGNA request, probably firmware of the Radio is older than 2.10.

DGNA in Dimetra Express
DGNA allows Dispatcher to move subscribers to specific Talk Group. The command sends request to Terminal to switch group, if the Subscriber accepts it the groups is switched.
After a timeout the radio will switch back to default group.

Configuration – Dimetra Express side:
  • Requires ECADI license.




Configuration - Dimetra Terminal:
  • Choose one of the regrouping option: static, semi-static, dynamic.



    Each option have different group management logic, for more information on difference between options - contact Motorola support.
    TRBOnet Enterprise\Plus supports all options.
Configuration – TRBOnet side:
  • Requires adding the ECADI connection option to TRBOnet.


TRBOnet detects the ability to use DGNA for Dimetra Express system based on ECADI protocol used for connection to Dimetra Express controller.
